Background

Having received a scholarship to study at Bond University through her swimming achievements, Abby Schoorl is our meticulous and focus-driven Paralegal, whose discipline in the water is matched only by her drive to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As a national backstroke winner, Abby, quite literally, understands the ripple effects injuries have on people’s everyday lives. Her experiences in the pool taught her the importance of perseverance and discipline, qualities she now applies with a genuine dedication to helping our clients in unexpected times of need.

Along with a scholarship, Abby's academic achievements include an Honours thesis comparing multi-jurisdictional differences in the law for victims of medical negligence. It’s rare to find someone so young and talented who a laser-light focus on such a deeply impacting and niche area of the profession. Her empathetic nature, coupled with her spatial awareness and critical thinking skills, provide the perfect Murphy’s Law DNA to help our clients through the complexities of claims, all the way towards the finish line.

Having personally felt the impact of loss due to accidents, Abby matches her deeply empathetic nature with an organised and process-driven approach to drive her healthy, competitive energy for the absolute best results.

"Team culture! I love this area of law and pursuing it with a great team makes it even better."

What do you enjoy most about helping clients?

"The main reason I chose to pursue law was because I wanted to help people. People who come to us for help have suffered life-altering accidents and being able to improve their situations even a little bit brings me a lot of job satisfaction."

Special Interests

Whenever she's not at work, she's (of course) at the pool training. She's also learning French on Duolingo while teaching herself how to knit a jumper! 🧶
