Murphy’s Law Accident Lawyers has announced the addition of Special Counsel Michelle Tomley, who made the move from her role as Queensland Practice Leader (Head Trauma) at Shine Lawyers.
Michelle brings more than 23 years' experience from both sides of the fence in accident law and insurance litigation to the Murphy’s Law Accident Lawyers team.
Having previously acted on behalf of insurers, Michelle now holds the coveted advantage of pre-empting both parties’ strategies, best placing her to achieve the maximum possible compensation outcomes for her clients.
She recently produced a comprehensive Quantum Case Reference tool summarising key findings from Queensland civil damages judgments.
Michelle has also prepared and presented peer-recognised training on the fundamentals of damages assessments in Queensland, along with thought leadership and advocacy to better educate the broader profession in rehabilitation avenues through the National Injury Insurance Scheme (NIISQ)
Michelle is a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) and sits on the ALA Special Interest Group (CTP and NIISQ), actively working with the legal community on initiatives aimed at improving access to compensation for Queenslanders, particularly for those most seriously affected by physical trauma.
The appointment comes as Murphy’s Law Accident Lawyers proudly marks its tenth year of operation, a milestone underscored by a string of recent achievements, including prestigious awards, a flawless five-star Google review rating, outstanding settlement outcomes, and key additions to its team.
Murphy’s Law recently received a Best Law Firms™ accolade for personal injury litigation, placing the firm among the top two per cent of practices nationwide, while Principal Chris McManus and Special Counsel Chris McMahon were again named in this year’s edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia™.
These recent acknowledgements build on the firm’s back-to-back recognitions in Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession, which Murphy’s Law Accident Lawyers has received each year since 2017.
